My First Class: A Magical Start

I taught my very first yoga class this week and honestly, it still feels a little surreal. I had seven people signed up ahead of time, but by the time we began, there were fourteen mats on the ground. Fourteen humans who showed up with curiosity and open hearts. I’ll never forget it.
The setting was beautiful. We practiced near the water, surrounded by nature and the sound of birds. It felt peaceful and alive all at once. I brought props, gave out cool cloths after class, and offered gentle guidance to support every body that arrived. It wasn’t perfect, but it was real.
I definitely made a few mistakes. I rushed through parts of it and forgot to take any photos until most people had already packed up. I left my speaker on too loud at one point and lost my place in the flow once or twice. But no one seemed to mind. People smiled, moved, and rested. That was more than enough.
Even with the nerves and the learning curve, I left feeling full. The energy was calm and kind, and the support I felt from the people who came out meant the world. It’s one thing to plan and dream and another to actually do the thing. And I did it.
Now I feel more prepared for the next one. I know what I want to adjust, and I’m already excited to teach again. This is only the beginning of something that feels really special.
Thank you to everyone who came, asked questions, stayed for savasana, and helped make this first class so magical.
See you on the mat soon.
