Embrace the Season: September with Homebody Movement Club

Can you believe it’s September already? The air’s getting crisper, the mornings a little slower, and it feels like the perfect time to settle in and take care of ourselves. I’m so glad you’re here, part of our little Homebody Movement Club crew. This space is all about movement, connection, and just showing up for yourself, however you can.

HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING THIS MONTH

🍂 OUTDOOR YOGA

Sundays at 10am at Portage Resort.
Bundle up in cozy layers, grab your mat, and let’s keep moving together. Even if it’s chilly, we’ll make it feel warm and welcoming. Classes will continue through the end of September, weather permitting.

💻 Homebody Zoom Yoga

  • Homebody Morning Glow – Mondays & Wednesdays at 7am
    Wake up, stretch out, and set a calm, energized tone for your day with this 40-minute Vinyasa flow. We’ll start with mindful breathing and gentle stretches to awaken your body, build a little heat with flowing sequences, and finish with grounding stillness to carry into the rest of your day.

  • Homebody Flow – Mondays at 7pm
    A cozy, come-as-you-are yoga class for anyone craving a gentle reset, a little movement, and a sense of connection no matter how far apart we are. This 40-minute flow is perfect for winding down and easing into your week with soft strength, grounding breath, and a few minutes of rest at the end.

🧘‍♀️ Massey 24/7 Fitness Classes

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9am – Strong & Steady / Power Flow
    Wake up your body and build strength with a flow that’s equal parts grounding and energizing. Move at your own pace while challenging yourself to grow stronger week by week.

  • Thursdays, 7pm – Gentle Flow
    Slow down, stretch it out, and find calm at the end of your day. This class is all about releasing tension and creating space to rest. Perfect for beginners or anyone craving a softer evening practice.

🪑CHAIR YOGA
I’m working with the Spanish Township to bring a Chair Yoga series to our seniors. This will be a chance to move gently, socialize, and try something new each week. Keep an eye out for the official announcement. I’ll share all the details soon!

🎨 Fun Events in the Works

  • Paint & Pose at Portage Resort – Join me for a creative and restorative evening of gentle yoga followed by painting. We’ll move, breathe, and then bring that flow onto the canvas.

    • Upcoming Events: Tuesday, September 16 and Saturday, September 20

  • Beauty & Balance with Nginaajiw Salon (Sagamok) – An evening filled with movement, self-care, and connection. Together we will create space for balance, beauty, and community.

    • Date TBA

Please note that I will be away on a camping trip from September 22 – 25. All classes during this time will be cancelled, and I’ll be back to teaching on the evening of September 25. Thank you for your understanding!

Honestly, September feels like a fresh start, but it’s also okay to just keep things simple. Whether you roll out your mat once a week, stop by for a Sunday session, or just read this newsletter with your tea, I’m so glad we’re doing this together.
