Steady Like a Tree November
Carissa Collins | NOV 28, 2025
Happy November!
November is here, a month of slowing down, warming up, and finding steady ground before winter settles in. I’ve been feeling extra grateful lately for this community and the way movement continues to root us together, even as life shifts and schedules change. Thank you for showing up in person, in spirit, and in your own quiet ways.
This month’s gift is a soothing Spotify playlist to bring a little calm and warmth to your days, whether you’re flowing on your mat, journaling, or just sipping your morning coffee.
As the days get cooler, our schedule is shifting a little to match the slower rhythm of the season.
In-Person Schedule:
Massey 24/7 Fitness
• Wednesdays 7:00pm – Evening Flow
• Thursdays 8:45am – Morning Flow
HOP Fitness, Espanola
• Saturdays 9:00am – Power Yoga
Spanish Legion
• Thursdays 10:30am – Free Chair Yoga (in partnership with the Township of Spanish)
Zoom Schedule:
• Tuesdays 7:00am
Perfect for cozy mornings or calm evenings from home (yes, pajamas are still encouraged ✨).
And for those busy holiday weeks, I’m also offering private Zoom classes to fit your schedule. These 1:1 sessions are personalized for your body and energy that day, ideal if you need a little calm between the holiday chaos. Message me to set up your time!
I’ve added a few cozy goodies to the online shop: mugs, stickers, and small homebody-inspired pieces to make your space feel warm and personal. Perfect for gifting (or keeping for yourself, no judgment).
“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”
— Bhagavad Gita
This month, let’s take our yoga beyond the mat and into our everyday moments. The Bhagavad Gita reminds us that yoga isn’t just about the poses; it’s about awareness, patience, and presence through life’s ups and downs.
When things feel rushed or uncertain this month, try practicing Ahimsa, the yogic principle of non-harming. That means kindness in thoughts, words, and actions, especially toward yourself. Notice where you might be hard on yourself and see if you can soften instead. Small, gentle shifts are the heart of this practice.
Theme: Balance and steadiness through change
Tree Pose is your November reminder to stay grounded and centered, even when life sways.
Try it while you brush your teeth, wait for your coffee to brew, or take a moment at your desk. Feel your roots pressing down and your crown lifting tall, both grounded and growing.
Tip: Focus your gaze (drishti) on something steady in front of you. The stillness of your gaze will steady your body and your mind.
In the Kitchen:
This month I made a Biscoff cheesecake (which was dangerously good) and a creamy chicken tortellini soup that hit all the cozy notes.
What I’ve Been Reading:
A Spinster’s Guide to Danger and Dukes by Manda Collins → ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A total surprise favorite! Royalty, mystery, and romance — with a strong, independent heroine I adored.
The Wedding Menu by Katelyn Doyle → ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Warm, emotional, and impossible to put down. Sweet and real with beautiful friendships and a perfect ending.
In My Heart by Lauren Flynn → ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
A cozy small-town Christmas romance that gave me all the Canadian holiday feels.
If you’ve read something you loved lately, reply to this email. I’m always looking for my next read!
This season is an invitation to root down before we rise again. Take it slow, breathe deeply, and remember that balance isn’t about stillness, it’s about steadying yourself as things move around you.
See you on the mat soon,
Carissa ✨
