

ABOUT THE RETREATHeld by the Lake is a cozy, nature-based women’s retreat designed to feel nourishing, supportive, and grounding. Through gentle outdoor yoga, time in nature, and shared moments, you’re invited to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and enjoy a weekend where you can do as much, or as little, as you’d like. All activities are optional. This retreat is about rest, connection, and feeling held in a beautiful lakeside setting.

Nestled in Northern Ontario’s LaCloche Foothills, Portage Resort Ltd offers stunning views of Agnew Lake and a peaceful escape from the pace of everyday life.
Surrounded by forest, open water, and wide skies, the property invites you to breathe a little deeper. There is an informal walking trail on the property, and guests are welcome to wander the campgrounds, explore at their own pace, and settle into the rhythm of nature.
Spend quiet time on one of the many docks, float in the lake, enjoy a friendly game of badminton or tetherball, or simply sit with a book and the sound of the water. Whether you’re craving stillness or lighthearted movement, there’s space for both.
For added convenience, the town of Espanola is just 15 minutes away, offering grocery stores, pharmacies, and other everyday essentials should you need anything during your stay.

Guests are responsible for bringing:
Bath towels and beach towels

On Saturday, guests have the opportunity to book optional on-site spa treatments with Denise, owner of Escape to Serenity.
Available services may include manicures, pedicures, and aromatherapy massage.
Treatments are not included in retreat pricing and are booked and paid directly to Denise. Availability is limited and booking details will be shared with registered guests prior to the retreat.

All water at the retreat is safe to drink (potable). Chilled water is also provided in the fridges of all cabins.

To help ensure a safe, comfortable, and respectful experience for everyone, we kindly ask that all guests observe the following guidelines:
• Cabins and indoor spaces are non-smoking. Butt out cigarettes in designated smoking areas.
• No pets permitted
• Quiet hours begin at 11:00 PM and end at 7:00 AM
• Please respect the property; no writing, carving, or damage to cabins, furniture, or natural surroundings
• Guests are responsible for keeping their spaces tidy during the weekend
• Please be mindful with alcohol consumption. Glass bottles or containers are not allowed on the campground; non-breakable containers are recommended.
• There is no lifeguard on site. Participation in swimming or water activities is at your own discretion and risk.
• Guests must bring their own personal flotation devices (PFDs / life jackets). While a few are available on site, we cannot guarantee proper fit or sufficient numbers.
• All deposits are non-refundable.
• Cancellations more than 30 days before retreat: refund of additional payments made (deposit not included).
• Cancellations 14–30 days before retreat: 50% refund of remaining balance (excluding deposit).
• Cancellations less than 14 days before retreat: non-refundable.
• Spot transfers allowed with host approval.
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect against unexpected illness, weather, or travel disruptions.
The retreat is not responsible for travel-related costs.
